American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications and passing an Advanced EKG exam.

• ICU setting within a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• Patient ratios of 1:2-3
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within the hospital or affiliated campuses based on staffing needs
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR used for charting

• Active NC or Compact RN license required, pending license not accepted
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Must pass an Advanced EKG exam prior to start, no exceptions
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care/management, assisting with chest tube insertion/removal, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, management of chronic/acute renal failure, administration of continuous IV paralytics/sedation, emergency medications, procedural sedation, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG, and IV insulin protocols
• No background or license actions within the past 12 months

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients including those with complex multisystem conditions
• Facility is a short-term acute care hospital with 733 staffed beds
• Scrub color requirement: royal blue and white
• Pre-start modules required, estimated completion time of 4-10 hours
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the main campus are not eligible for this position
• Maximum of 4 days RTO permitted, with holiday RTO limited to one major holiday
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• System has a two-contract limit, requiring a six-month break before returning
• First-time travelers are not preferred but may be considered at manager's discretion depending on experience level
