Location: On the road, roving work throughout the Carolinas.
Travel: Travel Required: meals and lodging reimbursement apply.
Schedule: 4 ten-hour days per week.

- Ongoing training and assistance with obtaining industry certifications.
- Inspect power line rights-of-way to assess vegetation conditions and determine required maintenance activities based on client specifications.
- Maintenance planning activities including machine work, herbicide application, capital projects, and unplanned response work. Worker completes plans thoroughly and with a high level of accuracy.
- Perform tree health assessments – Level 1 and Level 2, Tree Risk Assessment.
- Notify property owners of assessment being performed, when necessary.
- Inform property owners of required vegetation management work and obtain necessary permissions.
- Research and document property ownership for owner notifications.
- Exhibits experience and skills required to negotiate complaint resolutions.
- Document and record information with mobile device using GIS software.
- Operate with the highest level of personal and public safety.
- Communicate daily with the utility client, contractors, landowners and the general public. Includes responding to emails/phone calls promptly.
- Perform duties in a manner that will promote and maintain good public relations.
- Drive a company vehicle safely to work locations for the organization.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
NEED TO HAVE
- Must have solid tree identification skills and the ability to read maps.
- Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, the ability to multi-task and attention to detail.
- Must be able to work alone, outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Current ISA arborist certification.
- Current ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) certification.
- Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Forestry, Environmental Science or related field preferred.
- Previous Forester/Arboriculture/Tree Care working experience.
Work with a team and alone; primarily in an outdoor field environment and/or low light conditions; foot patrol of energy corridors in the vicinity of power lines and/or pipelines; remote locations as well as urban, city environment; physical demands and travel from site to site, including: walking/hiking on various surfaces including flat, dry, wet, slippery, rocky, sandy, uneven, rough, unstable, steep terrain, hills and slopes, dense vegetation;
exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, and all types of weather extremes including snow, ice, fog, humidity, and low and high temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions, domestic and wild animals, insects, and poisonous plants. Other working conditions may include: in a vehicle or limited time in an indoor office.
