Job SummaryThe OHE Foreman leads the crew to complete daily tasks related to the placement of overhead electrical cables, ensuring safety, accurate tracking of hours, and timely completion of projects. The Foreman oversees the Line team, provides daily toolbox talks and safety inspections, and coordinates with other departments.
Responsibilities- Obtain all necessary materials and ensure permits and licenses are in place.
- Oversee project work, assuming full responsibility for quality and timeliness.
- Ensure compliance with the highest applicable safety standards.
- Facilitate daily toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections.
- Disseminate safety information and ensure crew understanding.
- Perform aerial tasks such as new cable installs, pole transfers, strand building, cable hanging, and lashing, when safe to do so.
- Place overhead electrical cables and connect wires and cables to terminals.
- Coordinate and supervise daily tasks for crew members related to digging and placing product.
- Perform construction work, including digging holes, placing cable, air pipe, and inner duct work in conduit systems and open excavations.
- Climb utility poles and/or use aerial lift trucks to place cables per system design.
- Drive, haul, and operate equipment to support crew completion of work.
- Train new hires and trainees on trade skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 6 years of experience in the field.
- 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
- 8+ years of experience, including extensive supervisory and training experience.
- OSHA 20 Certification.
This job operates in a field environment. Employees routinely bend, squat, climb, kneel, push, pull, lift (up to 50 lbs), stand, and twist, often in inclement weather (heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, wind). Clear vision and precise hand‑eye coordination are required.
