The AWS Engineer we hire will help KFC pay down years of technical debt without anyone calling it a rewrite, using Redis sparingly and well. The reward structure favors doers: $77,000 - $108,000 upfront, real technology ownership, and a KFC team pulling the same direction.
Key Responsibilities- Translate technology compliance rules into Cost Optimization guardrails baked into the build
- Keep Istio schemas backward-compatible so KFC never forces a breaking upgrade
- Respond to on-call rotations and participate in incident postmortems
- Land DNS Management performance wins KFC can measure in NC retention numbers
- Mentor the mid-level cohort through their first real ArgoCD on-call at KFC
- A NC work history, or strong reasons you'll thrive here anyway
- Adaptability and resilience when facing shifting requirements
- The kind of attention to detail that catches what spell-check misses
- Fluency across Nginx and Interpersonal Skills, with strong opinions on both
- Comfort owning technology decisions in a NC market
- A steady hand when three priorities all claim to be number one
- Comfort being accountable for a steady-handed outcome in a remote role
Out of a converted warehouse in Asheville, KFC has quietly grown into a steady-handed force shaping how technology gets done. We trust the mid-level folks closest to the customer to make the call without a committee.
We reward your DNS Management with $77,000 - $108,000, surround it with mentorship and benefits, and let your schedule flex around Asheville.
This role is being actively staffed, with offers expected before the quarter closes.
Your ArgoCD story isn't finished, and the next chapter might be an AWS Engineer role here.
