Job Summary

Senior Primary Care Nurse at HMP Oakwood, a Category C prison in Wolverhampton, UK. This role leads a multidisciplinary team to deliver nurse‑led services, prevent hospital admissions, and provide high‑quality care in a secure environment.

Hours:

37.5 per week, 1 in 3 weekends, 10/12 hour shifts. Shift pattern: 07:00–17:30/20:00 or 07:30–20:00.

Salary: £43,609 – £49,175 per annum, dependent on experience.

• Lead a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver a nurse‑led service and prevent hospital admissions.
• Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, and attend emergency response situations.
• Assess patients and undertake reception screening.
• Seek out, listen to and act on patient feedback to personalise care.
• Deliver non‑judgemental care aligned with the Health in Justice competency framework.
• Forge strong links with partners and stakeholders to build a trusted service.
• Embed evidence‑based practice, continuous quality improvement and shared learning.
• Build and support strong multi‑disciplinary teams.

• Registered nurse – Adult.
