Overview

Retail Assistant Store Manager – 0400 at First Cash

We are currently looking for the right candidate to join our Team as a Retail Assistant Store Manager. The hourly wage is $20.00 to $22.00 per hour, with a commission structure that pays for transactions processed.

Position Summary

Assistant Store Managers are accountable for day-to-day store operations and promoting a positive, productive environment. They partner with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage Customer Relations and Satisfaction. The role sets the tone for a customer-centric environment and collaborates on analysis of store financial statements to ensure goals are met.

The position requires commitment to asset protection and the ability to engage with customers and staff in a jewelry and general merchandise environment, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

This role offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity and a bonus based on store performance. Actual pay depends on location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities Of An Assistant Store Manager
  • Foster a customer-centric environment; engage customers professionally and address issues quickly.
  • Assist in training Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
  • Recruit top talent through company-approved channels.
  • Open and close the store, manage cash drawers and inventory, and protect assets.
  • Ensure asset protection through inventory control, safety procedures, documentation, and secure customer loans.
  • Administer store processes including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store systems, and reporting.
  • Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through goal setting.
  • Maintain operating standards to meet or exceed First Cash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes for value and integrity of loans.
  • Complete assigned tasks and self-development training; communicate store mission and objectives clearly to staff.
  • Stay up-to-date on product knowledge and act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Must be willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, etc., in compliance with laws.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise others.
  • Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
  • Minimum Age: 18;
    High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work at multiple locations as needed; flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Assistant Store Managers will work 40+ hours per week; hours vary by business needs.
  • Computer literate; able to operate POS systems; strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Excellent work ethic and business sense; cash handling experience; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Commission Plan Information

The commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Assistant Store Managers have the potential to earn 2%–8% commission based on gross profit from personal performance. Details are provided during the interview process.
