Position Overview
OB/GYN – Laborist.
Location:
Federal Way, WA. Position Type:
Full‑time. Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, part of the Pacific Northwest Division of Common Spirit, seeks a Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN physician to join our women’s health group.
- Work seven 24‑hour onsite shifts per month.
- Provide 24‑hour onsite labor and delivery coverage.
- Collaborate with Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM) and provide ER coverage for GYN emergencies or surgeries.
- Vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
- Diagnostic curettage (D&C)
- Laparoscopy and hysteroscopy
- High‑risk obstetrics and gynecological surgeries
St. Francis Hospital – 124 bed, Level III Trauma Center with 24/7 anesthesia and MFM support. Level II Special Care Nursery capable of caring for infants as young as 32 weeks and partnership with Seattle Children’s for specialty newborn care. Roughly 140–160 deliveries per month.
Requirements- MD or DO, Board Certified or Board Eligible (must become BC within the first two years of employment)
- 2–4 years of practice experience as an OB/GYN
- Washington State medical license at the time of employment
- DEA, NPI and prescriptive authority
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Health Providers (American Heart Association)
