Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. The teacher will design and implement educational programs that foster academic, social, and emotional growth, ensuring compliance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and state/federal regulations. This role requires patience, creativity, and a commitment to inclusive education.

• Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to students’ IEP goals and learning styles.
• Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, life skills, and social-emotional development.
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to promote inclusive practices.
• Assess student progress and maintain accurate documentation of performance and IEP compliance.
• Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and evidence-based strategies.
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal special education laws and school policies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• Current state teaching certification in Special Education.
• Knowledge of IEP development and implementation.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and manage diverse classroom needs.

• Master’s degree in Special Education or related discipline.
• Experience working with students across multiple disability categories.
• Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive instructional tools.

• State‑issued Special Education Teacher certification (required).
• Additional endorsements in related subject areas (preferred).
