Concrete Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer

Overview

The Concrete Engineer is a team member of Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering (KIE). This position’s primary role is to provide support to construction operations, perform analysis, and design to Kiewit projects, including a direct impact to other teams within the engineering district. Project involvement can occur at any stage of a project’s life cycle (Get Work or Build Work). Continued job-related learning is encouraged and expected.

Preferably located in Lone Tree, CO. Depending on experience, location may be Bellevue, WA or Woodcliff Lake, NJ.

• Assist the Chief Concrete Engineer in providing and managing concrete technical solutions.
• Support pre-bid evaluation, design constructability reviews, technical risk assessments, and construction operations work planning (placing procedures, pumping, constructability reviews, mix design, value engineering, troubleshooting, proposal development, and training).
• Assist in improving concrete quality and reducing concrete quality issues through proactive engagement with jobsite personnel.
• Collaborate in developing concrete-related design requirements and specifications for construction.
• Interpret concrete materials properties and construction quality results including process control data.
• Serve as field engineer during construction when opportunities align.
• Interpret/learn/apply client-specific design methodologies, specifications, and standards.
• Develop and maintain internal and external client relationships and construction partners, including project and non-project related face-to-face meetings.

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. Master’s degree with emphasis in concrete or related field preferred.
• EIT with a minimum of 2 years of experience directly applicable to concrete (including mix designs, thermal control analysis, service life engineering, forensic analysis, troubleshooting, testing procedures, applicable codes, standards and best practices, ACI manual of concrete practice, etc.).
• Active US PE required.
• Ability to travel in North America (approximately 25%).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of concrete industry standards (ASTM, ACI, CSA) preferred.
• Experience with industry software for concrete mixture proportioning, thermal modeling, and service life analysis.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

Base compensation: $95,000/yr - $100,000/yr. Actual compensation varies with education, experience, skillset, and location. Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans with matching, and generous PTO.
