American Traveler is hiring a night-shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit role requiring WA or compact RN licensure and prior PCU experience.
Requirements- Active WA or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Prior PCU experience required
- Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips required
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Acute care Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown) with 24 beds
- Patient ratios of 1:3-4 with nurse aide support at 1:10
- Common diagnoses include pneumonia, ARDS, COVID-19, hypertensive urgency, angina, cardiac cath patients, and ETOH withdrawal
- RNs required to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Diltiazem, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Dobutamine
- Remote monitor techs manage telemetry with RN approval
- RT equipment used includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen
- Uses EPIC EMR
- 12-hour night shifts from with possible flex to days
- Every other weekend requirement
- Floating required, with priority as first to float within the region to other network hospitals
- Standby call possible only if extra staffing is available
- 24/7 charge nurse and house supervisor support on unit
- Provide stepdown-level nursing care to medically complex patients requiring close monitoring
- Collaborate with remote monitor techs for telemetry readings
- Holiday coverage required for 2 winter holidays
- Unit-specific orientation provided
- No specific scrub color or dress code required
