This is a part-time, on-site Dental Receptionist role based at The Dental Surgery Brook Lane in Felixstowe. The Dental Receptionist will be responsible for greeting patients, checking them in and out, and ensuring a positive experience at the front desk. Day-to-day tasks include managing appointment scheduling, maintaining an accurate diary system, answering phone calls, and responding to patient queries in a professional manner.
The role also involves handling patient records, supporting the dental team with administrative tasks, processing payments, and coordinating with clinicians to maintain an efficient workflow. The Dental Receptionist will contribute to a clean, organized reception area and uphold confidentiality and data protection standards at all times.
- Strong receptionist and front-of-house skills, including greeting patients, managing check-in/check-out, and handling general receptionist duties.
- Proficiency in appointment scheduling, diary management, and coordinating patient flow throughout the day.
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills, with the ability to interact clearly and respectfully with patients, colleagues, and external partners.
- Basic understanding of dental care services and terminology, or willingness to learn, to support accurate booking and patient guidance.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment.
- Comfort using practice management or booking software, email, and standard office applications.
- Previous experience in a dental, medical, or healthcare reception role is beneficial but not essential.
- Commitment to confidentiality, inclusivity, and providing a respectful, welcoming experience for all patients.
