We are looking for a vibrant, enthusiastic and committed Teacher of PE to join Felixstowe School from January 2027 on a maternity-cover basis. This post would suit an energetic teacher who wants to be part of a welcoming team, deliver excellent physical education and make a visible contribution to school life.

PE is an important and popular part of our curriculum, and we are looking for someone who loves their subject, enjoys working with young people and wants every student to experience the confidence, enjoyment and wellbeing that come from being physically active. This is an exciting time for PE at Felixstowe School. We want to build participation, strengthen performance and give students of all abilities meaningful opportunities to develop their skills through lessons, clubs, fixtures and enrichment.

About PE at Felixstowe

PE is an important and popular part of our curriculum. Students benefit from a broad and ambitious physical education programme, alongside opportunities to take part in clubs, fixtures and wider sporting activities. We want our maternity-cover Teacher of PE to maintain high standards, build on the department’s strengths and encourage students of all abilities to participate, improve and enjoy being active.

You will:

• teach engaging and ambitious PE lessons across the age and ability range
• inspire students to develop their confidence, physical literacy, teamwork and resilience
• contribute enthusiastically to clubs, fixtures, competitions and enrichment

• work collaboratively with colleagues across the PE team and wider school
• create opportunities for students who already love sport — and for those who have not yet found an activity they enjoy
