Senior Import Clerk

Our client, a well-established and expanding transport and logistics company based in Felixstowe, is seeking an experienced Senior Import Clerk to join their busy and supportive operations team.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage the end-to-end import process, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently and in line with customer requirements

* Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, overseas agents, and internal colleagues

* Prepare, check, and process import documentation, ensuring compliance with all customs and regulatory requirements

* Complete customs entries accurately and efficiently

* Liaise with customers and third parties to resolve any shipment queries or issues.

* Ensure all operational procedures are completed within agreed timescales

* Raise and issue customer invoices accurately and promptly

* Provide support and guidance to colleagues where required, helping to maintain high operational standards

Skills & Experience Required:

* A minimum of 3 years' experience within import freight forwarding or logistics

* Strong knowledge of import procedures and customs regulations

* Proven customs entry experience

* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously

* Strong communication and relationship-building skills

* A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail
