An established and highly respected logistics business is looking to appoint an experienced Container Transport Operations Manager to lead its busy transport operation based in Felixstowe.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation with a strong reputation within the container haulage industry. You’ll take ownership of a high-performing planning team, oversee daily transport operations, and play a key role in maintaining exceptional service levels for a portfolio of valued customers.

• Lead and manage a busy team of Transport Operators
• Oversee container transport planning from Felixstowe, London Gateway and Southampton
• Drive operational performance, fleet utilisation and revenue targets
• Build strong relationships with drivers, customers and internal departments
• Ensure day‑to‑day operational issues are resolved efficiently
• Oversee VBS bookings and minimise unnecessary costs
• Monitor KPIs, operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement
• Ensure compliance with transport legislation, company policies and industry regulations
• Occasional travel to other UK depots when required

• Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a transport planning or operations team
• Strong background within container haulage and UK transport operations
• Working knowledge of TOPS
  , VBS and port systems
• Excellent understanding of UK geography, driver hours and Working Time Directive regulations
• A confident leader with outstanding communication and customer relationship skills
• Highly organised with excellent problem‑solving ability and attention to detail
• Able to perform under pressure while maintaining exceptional service standards
