Practice Nurse

About the Role

The Grove Medical Centre are seeking a Practice Nurse to join the team on a full-time basis to support health promotion, chronic disease management, and treatment of minor illnesses.

Duties will include:

• Deliver routine nursing care
• Perform cervical screening (smears)
• Carry out immunisations and vaccinations (adult and childhood)
• Undertake health checks
• Monitor and manage long‑term conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, hypertension)
• Conduct ECGs and other basic diagnostic tests
  
  Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Provide advice on general health, wellbeing, and disease prevention
• Support patients in managing chronic conditions
• Promote healthy lifestyle choices (e.g. smoking cessation, weight management
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records
• Use clinical systems to document consultations and care plans
• Ensure compliance with practice protocols and guidelines
• Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures
• Ensure safe storage and handling of vaccines and medications
• Maintain a clean, safe clinical environment

All applicants should have the following qualifications, registrations, skills and experience:

• A relevant nursing degree
• Current NMC registration with an active PIN
• Previous experience of working within primary care
• Maintain NMC registration and adhere to the Code of Conduct
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development
• Work collaboratively with GPs, healthcare assistants, and other staff
• Stay up to date with clinical guidelines and best practice
• Knowledge of Systm One desirable

The surgery is a purpose built, modern building set in the friendly seaside town of Felixstowe.
