About The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Service Desk Apprentice to work as part of an internal IT team supporting approximately 2000 users across 15+ sites and would suit someone who is confident in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Purpose of the roleAs a Service Desk Apprentice you’ll be a key member of the IT Service Desk helping users with all IT support related issues, assisting the Service Desk Technicians and Analysts.
The Service Desk Team operate in a traditional tiered service desk structure designed around the ITIL framework and the Apprentice will perform general duties across the remit of the Service Desk Activities.
YourKey Responsibilities Will Include
- Answer telephone calls in a professional, confident, and timely manner.
- Learn to log, categorise, and track incoming IT tickets.
- Assist users with basic technical inquiries via phone, email, web portal, and in person.
- Shadow experienced team members to develop troubleshooting skills.
- Contribute to maintaining the service desk knowledge base.
- Participate in regular training sessions and self-study activities.
- Support basic IT system administration tasks.
- Good general education with strong numeracy and literacy skills.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Windows.
- Demonstratable communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Problem-solving aptitude and logical thinking.
- Genuine interest in technology and IT systems.
- Previous customer service experience is desirable.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and software.
- IT-related qualifications or courses (e.g., GCSE Computing, IT BTec).
