Tax Professional - Franchise

About the Role

As a seasonal Tax Professional at H&R Block, you will inspire clients to make confident, informed decisions about their lives, careers, and finances. You will build and strengthen client relationships over time, working within an expert team that provides advanced training and support.

• Conduct tax interviews with clients face‑to‑face and via virtual tools—video, phone, chat, and email.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns.
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services.
• Provide clients with IRS support, including:
• Tax notice services (available to all certification levels).
• Audit representation (circular 230 associates).
• Mentor and support teammates.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification.
• Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership).
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or tax.
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews.
• Experience with tax planning and audit support.
• Sales and/or marketing experience.

• Experience in a fast‑paced environment.
• Comfort working with virtual tools—video, phone, and chat.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person, via phone, and in writing.

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or tax.
• Completed individual tax returns.
• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum).
• Must complete continuing education requirements and meet all IRS and applicable state requirements.
