Who We WantWe need an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering department within the Flex Air division in Fenton, MI.
What You Will Be Doing- Lead design of custom power and controls systems for customers across many industries and applications.
- Create plans for power distribution networks.
- Perform engineering calculations for power consumption, transformer sizing, conductor sizing, and related tasks.
- Use engineering principles to evaluate and select products, components, and equipment to meet customer performance and safety requirements.
- Create, modify, and maintain 2D and 3D CAD data, one‑line diagrams, product documentation, and bills of materials.
- Assist and support manufacturing with resolution of build issues and troubleshooting.
- Support project management with schedule coordination and customer transmittals.
- Ensure designs comply, from an engineering standpoint, with all federal, state, or local laws and regulations (e.g., OSHA, NEC).
- Review cost estimates and job‑specific requirements and report any costing discrepancies.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university is required.
- 3+ years of electrical engineering experience.
- Fundamental knowledge of electrical power and control systems.
- Excellent root‑cause analysis skills.
- Ability to interact with and provide direction to factory electricians.
- Experience in industrial and mechanical power systems.
- Experience in HVAC system design and controls.
- Experience in modular construction and equipment design.
- Experience with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
- Mid‑Senior level
