Wholesale Butcher

An opportunity has arisen for a skilled Wholesale Butcher to join a family-run catering butchers (est. 1962), with a close-knit team of Butchers, Production Operators, Warehouse Assistants and Delivery Drivers, supplying meats from around the world to London and the Home Counties.

What you’ll be doing as Wholesale Butcher:

Following daily butchery workflows, including whole carcass breakdown and preparation of beef, pork, lamb and poultry to specification.
Operating machinery such as the bandsaw safely and effectively to meet order requirements and stock replenishment.
Accurately using specifications, recipes and stock management systems to ensure products are to spec with full traceability.
Weighing, packing, sealing and inspecting products, identifying and addressing any items that are not to standard.
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety and quality assurance, alongside routine equipment checks and issue reporting.
Supporting stock control, inventory counts, stock rotation, and ongoing role-specific training, seeking guidance where knowledge gaps are identified.
What we’re looking for in a Wholesale Butcher:

Strong butchery and knife skills, including portion control, with experience operating butchery machinery safely and effectively.
Solid background in food production and preparation, delivering high-quality meat products in line with customer expectations.
Excellent knowledge of food safety practices, hygiene standards and health regulations, with a strong focus on compliance.
Proven ability to manage time and workflows effectively in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
Confident communicator who works well within a team to maintain smooth operations and consistent standards.
Passion for good food and flavour, combined with a flexible, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
Working hours

Monday to Friday, Night Shift 01:00 – 10:00
1 Saturday per month – 04:00 – 13:00 (fixed schedule)
