Job Summary

As a Resident Field Service Technician, you will provide field service support for P66 Ferndale Operations and surrounding area. You will operate and maintain systems, performing routine to complex tasks related to operation, maintenance, and calibration of equipment. This mission‑critical role involves working with technologies including media filtration, softening, reverse osmosis (RO), and ultrafiltration (UF).

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure contract compliance of volume and quality specifications
  • Operate, monitor, and optimize equipment performance
  • Perform analytical testing such as turbidity, hardness, chlorine, pH, CO₂, O₂, SDI, TOC, and other site‑specific testing requirements
  • Assist in providing service activities including parts refurbishment, maintenance, calibration of equipment, inspection, repair, performance testing, customer communications, project assessment and execution, and telephone customer support
  • Work schedules that will fluctuate based on customer and business needs
  • Perform diagnostic testing, repairs, test and calibration routines on the instruments, and complete all required paperwork
  • Accurately account for all inventory transactions associated with the repair process
  • Provide extensive equipment support and general hardware and software support
  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of safety on the job, including operation and maintenance of an assigned company vehicle (if applicable) and compliance with all Veolia Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong technical, mathematical and customer service skills
  • General knowledge of electrical equipment, water chemistry and safety
  • Vision, manual dexterity and coordination sufficient to service instruments and handle electrical equipment
  • Ability to learn applicable company procedures within a reasonable time from start of employment
  • Computer proficiency with a minimum of word processing and spreadsheets, and basic database knowledge
  • Ability to use ordinary hand tools, calibrated tools, and analytical instrumentation, as well as chemically aggressive fluids, such as acids and bases
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self‑motivated, with the ability to drive projects to completion with minimal oversight, while demonstrating significant problem‑solving ability with an unfailing dedication to deadlines and commitments
Education & Experience

Required:

  • High School Diploma / GED / Home School Certification OR international equivalent + 2+ years’ experience of service/maintenance or equivalent in an industrial environment
  • Valid Driver’s License

Preferred:

  • Bachelor or associate’s degree in science/engineering (STEM) or technical certificate in Instrumentation or Mechanical knowledge
Working Conditions
  • Regularly work around machines, electrical, chemicals
  • Work at customer sites where instruments may be in difficult to reach spaces requiring using a ladder to reach, working in close/cramped/small spaces
  • Regular requirement to reach with hands and arms, below and above shoulder height
