The Role Working closely alongside the Registered Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring children and young people receive outstanding care in a safe, nurturing and supportive environment. You will help lead and inspire the staff team, oversee compliance, promote high standards of safeguarding and quality, and contribute towards achieving positive outcomes for every young person in your care.
This role offers increasing responsibility, with the opportunity to step into a Registered Manager position as the organisation continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day management of the home. Lead shifts and provide leadership and guidance to the staff team. Ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and Ofsted requirements. Promote outstanding safeguarding practices and ensure children's welfare remains paramount. Supervise, mentor and develop staff to achieve high standards of care. Assist with audits, care planning, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
Build positive relationships with local authorities, families and external professionals. Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence. Contribute to preparing for and maintaining Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes. About You We're looking for an ambitious leader who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people. Essential Current experience as a Deputy Manager within a children's residential home.
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or currently working towards it). Strong understanding of Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding legislation. Experience leading and motivating staff teams. Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills. Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Experience supporting or preparing for Ofsted inspections. Experience acting up as Registered Manager or managing the home in the Registered Manager's absence. Ambition to progress into a Registered Manager position. What's on Offer Salary of up to £65,000 , depending on experience. Supportive and experienced senior leadership team. Ongoing professional development and funded career progression where applicable. A clear pathway to become a Registered Manager within the next 36 months , subject to performance and business needs.
