CNC TURNER - NIGHTS ONLY - BH21 - £20-£22ph

Here at Contek, we are working with a client who are a trusted supplier of precision-engineered components to the aerospace and defence sectors quality products that meet the stringent demands of global aerospace standards who are seeking a CNC Turner.

* CNC Turner – Setter – Operator – Programming would be advantageous; however, training can be provided

* Night shift only, Monday – Friday, 8.30pm – 7.00am

 * £20 - £22ph (inclusive of shift allowance)

Responsibilities

1. Programming (Mazak & ISO)

Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and process sheets.

* Generate setup sheets, tool lists, and document revisions for repeat jobs.

2. Machine Setting

* Set up Mazak CNC turning centres (Quick Turn / Nexus / Smooth / Integrex).

* Fit and clockwork holding (3-jaw, 2-jaw, collet chuck, soft jaws, mandrels).

* Ensure tooling, work holding, and job sequence are correct for multi-operation work.

3. Machine Operation

* Run CNC turning operations to produce parts within tolerance and cycle time requirements.

* Monitor tool wear and adjust wear offsets to maintain accuracy.

* Change inserts and tools during production and update offset registers accordingly.

4. Quality Control & Inspection

* Perform first-off, in-process.

* Use precision inspection equipmen

* Record measurement data and maintain quality documentation.

* Identify machining issues and apply corrective actions (e.g., chatter, taper, poor finish).

5. Maintenance & Safety

* Follow all HSE requirements, machine guarding, and correct manual-handling procedures.

* Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work area (5S standards)
