A well‑established precision engineering manufacturer in Ferndown is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner to join its busy machine shop team. This is a hands‑on role suited to a skilled machinist who is confident programming, setting and operating CNC lathes within a fast‑paced production environment.

The business is seeking someone who enjoys producing high-quality components, working with modern CNC machinery and supporting efficient day‑to‑day manufacturing output. The role also includes involvement with sliding head machining, offering added variety and technical challenge.

As a CNC Turner
, you will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines to produce precision‑engineered components to tight tolerances.

• Programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.
• Working with live tooling and multi‑axis machining equipment.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Carrying out first‑off and in‑process inspections using measuring equipment.
• Making programme edits and offset adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Ensuring machines are set and running efficiently to meet production targets.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.

• Proven experience as a CNC Turner, Setter or Programmer.
• Experience programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.
• Experience with live tooling and/or multi‑axis machining.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of machining tolerances and inspection processes.
• High attention to detail and a quality‑focused approach.
• Reliable, hands‑on and proactive attitude.

• Experience with Fanuc or similar CNC controls.
• Sliding head machining experience.
• Background in precision engineering environments.
• Experience producing complex components to tight tolerances.

• £20.00 – £24.00 per hour depending on experience.
