We are a well‑established sheet metal and fabrication company based in Ferndown, Dorset, serving a wide range of industries with high‑quality metalwork. With a strong reputation for precision, reliability, and craftsmanship, we are looking to expand our workshop team with an experienced and dedicated Fettler.

As a Fettler, you will be responsible for cleaning, smoothing, and finishing fabricated metal components. Your work ensures all parts are finished to a high standard before they move on to welding, assembly, or finishing processes.

• Grinding, sanding, deburring, and finishing fabricated parts using hand and power tools
• Removing weld splatter, sharp edges, and imperfections from sheet metal components
• Working from job cards or verbal instructions to meet finish requirements
• Inspecting parts for quality and reporting any defects or inconsistencies
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
• Supporting the wider fabrication team when required

• Previous experience in fettling, grinding, or metal finishing within a sheet metal or fabrication environment
• Skilled in using angle grinders, belt sanders, linishers, and other finishing tools
• Good attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Awareness of workshop safety practices

• Experience working with stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminium
• Familiarity with welding or other fabrication processes
• Forklift licence (preferred, but not essential)
