Math​/Science Teacher

Position: Full-Time Math/Science Teacher
Step into the role of a Math/Science Teacher for Grades 8-12 at Fernie Secondary School in Fernie, BC. This full-time temporary contract offers an engaging teaching opportunity from September 2026 to June 2027.

We are seeking a dedicated educator for our 1.0 FTE position, with responsibilities including Math 8, Science 8, Environmental Science 12, and more. Candidates must hold a degree or formal training in Math and Science and teaching experience at the secondary level is highly preferred. Successful applicants will be certified, and all work will take place on-site, fostering interaction with students and faculty.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Math and Science curriculum for Grades 8-12

• Deliver engaging lessons in Environmental Science and Science for Citizens

• Prepare assessments and report on student progress

• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance educational programs

• Ensure compliance with the Criminal Records Review Act

Requirements:

• BC Teacher Certification preferred

• Degree or formal training in Math and Science

• Teaching experience in a secondary school setting

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Ability to work on-site at Fernie Secondary School
