Position: Counsellor for K-12 Schools
Join the educational team in Fernie as a Counsellor for Grades K-12. This part-time, temporary role focuses on providing essential support and guidance to students across various schools.

Cranbrook School District No. 5 is seeking a dedicated Counsellor for Grades K-12. The role requires applicants to possess a Master's Degree in Counselling or Psychology, along with BC Teacher Certification. Your work will be district-wide at Kootenay Discovery School, Fernie Secondary School, and Jaffray Elementary/Jr. Secondary School.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide counselling support for K-12 students

• Implement trauma-informed practices in collaboration with educational staff

• Work on-site at three schools throughout the district

• Maintain accurate records of counselling sessions

• Participate in ongoing professional development

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Counselling or Psychology

• Valid BC Teacher Certification

• Experience with trauma-informed practices

• Teaching experience at K-12 level

• Strong communication skills and collaborative nature
