Position: Part-Time K-12 School Counsellor Role
Become a vital part of the counselling team in Fernie as a part-time K-12 Counsellor. This temporary role involves direct student support across multiple schools.

Cranbrook School District No. 5 invites qualified individuals to apply for the Counsellor position targeting K-12 students. With a Master's Degree in Counselling or Psychology, and BC Teacher Certification, your expertise will contribute to student development and wellbeing at Kootenay Discovery School, Fernie Secondary School, and Jaffray Elementary/Jr. Secondary School.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support K-12 students through educational challenges

• Ensure trauma-informed care throughout counselling practices

• Facilitate student counselling sessions in a supportive environment

• Collaborate with educational professionals for holistic support

• Adhere to confidentiality standards and ethical practices

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in a relevant field

• Teacher Certification in British Columbia preferred

• Experience in trauma-informed counselling

• K-12 teaching experience required

• Strong communication and rapport-building skills
