Shape future artisans and technicians as an Industrial Education and Computers Teacher at Fernie Secondary School. This temporary contract begins September 8, 2026, and spans through March 31, 2027.
The role focuses on teaching both Woodwork and Metalwork to students in grades 8-12, as well as introductory Computer skills. You will implement hands-on educational experiences to engage students in trade subjects and technology. A blend of practical skills and theoretical knowledge is necessary to foster student growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Instruct Woodwork 10/11/12 and Metalwork 8/9 courses
• Teach Intro to Trades for grades 10-12
• Deliver Computer education for grades 8 and 9
• Provide instruction on-site, directly engaging with students
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or training in Woodwork and Metalwork
• Teaching experience at the secondary level
• Red Seal qualification or equivalent
• Experience in teaching Computers
• BC Teacher Certification is desirable
