Customer Service Representative

** Role and Responsibilities**

• Perform light clerical work including answering, screening, and directing telephone calls to the appropriate personnel, and resolving calls related to orders, quotes, etc.
• Use hand tools and assist or complete modifications to products such as glazing, section width changes, insulation, etc., and operate a forklift.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding order tracking, expediting, and product availability.
• Enter orders at sales invoicing level and request products from supply plants.
• Notify customers about potential backorders, credit issues, and order statuses.
• Act as a liaison between the sales center and plant departments, gathering and responding with necessary information.
• Process paperwork necessary for daily sales center operations.
• Delivery Responsibilities (as required, including driver qualification with valid license): assist in unloading/loading vendor and customer vehicles, monitor daily LTL shipments including UPS, and assist with inventory controls such as cycle counts and loss prevention.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

** Qualifications**

• 1-3 years of customer service experience, preferably in the door industry.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills (telephone, written, verbal) with all levels of staff and customers.
• Working knowledge of PC software including MS Word, Excel, Access, Lotus Notes.
• Basic math skills.
• Willingness to learn products and processes.

** Education**

• High School Diploma or GED.

** Physical/Work Environment Requirements**

• Ability to stand for long periods in a non-climate-controlled environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
