English Teacher

Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum
Contract: Full-Time
Start Date: February Half Term 2026

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a secondary school in the Filey area from February Half Term. This is a full-time opportunity suitable for a confident practitioner who is passionate about literacy, language and supporting pupils to achieve their potential.

This secondary school offers a positive and inclusive learning environment, with a strong focus on pupil wellbeing, academic progress and personal development. The English department plays a central role within the school, promoting reading, writing and communication skills across the curriculum.

Staff work collaboratively to deliver engaging lessons, maintain high expectations and support learners of varying abilities, including those who may benefit from additional guidance and differentiation.

Plan and deliver high-quality English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4

Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners

Assess pupil progress and provide clear, constructive feedback

Prepare students for GCSE examinations

Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment

Contribute to departmental planning and wider school initiatives

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Degree in English or a related subject

Experience teaching English at secondary level

Strong classroom management and communication skills

Commitment to inclusive education and pupil progress

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
