Requirements Must have:
- 7+ years of software development experience, with a strong emphasis on C# and VB
- Familiarity with Ohio tax laws and operational practices is advantageous
- Demonstrated experience in technical design and application architecture for enterprise systems
- Understanding of tax assessment workflows and compliance requirements is a plus
- Strong grasp of object-oriented principles, SOLID design, and secure coding methodologies
- Experience with SQL Server and financial or tax-related data modeling
- Proficient in Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Experience in transitioning legacy VB systems to .NET Core
- Awareness of tax compliance frameworks and audit requirements
- Outstanding communication and collaboration capabilities
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible, team-oriented mindset with a proactive “get-it-done” attitude
- Capability to organize and manage work independently
- Adaptable to a fast-paced, changing work environment
- Ability to effectively juggle multiple tasks and switch contexts between various activities and teams
- Lead and facilitate technical design sessions – Oversee the architecture of the Vision Tax application – Collaborate with subject matter experts to implement and maintain application features using C# and VB – Design and build scalable, secure, and maintainable architecture for Tax applications – Develop and sustain core features utilizing C# (.NET) and VB ( or legacy modernization) – Work alongside Product Management, Customer Support, and internal tax domain experts to convert requirements into technical solutions – Ensure adherence to Ohio tax regulations and data security standards – Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute to the establishment of best practices – Assist in build and branch management for streamlined release cycles
