Non-Certified Nurse Aide – Full Time, 2nd Shift at Blanchard Valley Health System

The primary purpose of this position is to support licensed staff by providing direct care and performing aide functions such as attending to residents' personal needs and comfort in the assisted living areas. The assistant works under the supervision of a Nurse and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Birchaven policies and resident rights.

• Demonstrate knowledge and skill necessary to provide care appropriate to residents' needs and facilitate identification and reporting of changes in resident condition or behavior within the scope of allowed duties.
• Provide direct resident care and room preparation as directed by nursing staff to address resident needs and safety.
• Order and restock resident care supplies as needed to maintain adequate daily supplies.
• Display service excellence by practicing the organization's mission, vision, and values to promote resident satisfaction.
• Comply with organizational policies, procedures, confidentiality, and practices to ensure quality performance and regulatory compliance.
• Assist in other tasks as directed by Nurse, DON, or ADON.

• Minimum age 16 years old.
• Positive, service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to provide care appropriate to residents' needs in the neighborhood.
• Basic knowledge of principles related to aging adults and associated problems.
• Ability to assess resident status data and interpret information needed to identify each resident's needs.

This position requires a full range of body motion with intermittent activities such as walking, sitting, lifting, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and standing. The associate may lift 50 pounds or more. The position involves work above the shoulder and requires corrected vision and hearing in the normal range. Excellent communication skills are needed for daily tasks. The position is classified at risk for possible occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens (HBV, HIV, etc.).
