Pharmacy Technician - GREAT SCOT - Broad Ave. Findlay, OH at Fresh Encounter, Inc.

• Answer telephone and handle questions that do not require a pharmacist's expertise or professional judgment. Direct calls to the pharmacist when appropriate.
• Assist patients who are dropping off or picking up prescription orders and expedite processing as necessary and permissible by policy or law.
• Verify name and address (if applicable) of the person for whom the new prescription is being filled, and verify the prescriber's name and legibility.
• Assist pharmacists in preparing prescriptions by counting, pouring, flavoring medications, labeling containers, and pricing prescriptions.
• Accommodate customers when they arrive to pick up prescriptions.
• Process cash register transactions for new and refilled prescriptions.
• Ensure necessary communications are provided to the customer, such as instructions, side effects, and medication descriptions.
• Arrange customer consultations with the pharmacist when requested.
• Obtain signatures from customers for all prescriptions received.
• Communicate with insurance carriers to obtain payment for prescription claims and answer patients' insurance-related questions.
• Prepare insurance claims and verify payments.
• Verify that the customer receives the correct prescription(s); record purchases on the cash register and log them when appropriate.
• Ensure patient documentation is completed correctly as stated in policy and procedures.
• Instruct patients in the use of durable medical equipment and supplies as needed.
• Maintain a neat and clean personal appearance.
• Work with patients/clients to solve problems.
• Promote teamwork among co‑workers.
• Demonstrate timeliness, courtesy, sincerity, and patience when dealing with customers.
• Complete and process third‑party documents.
• Fill prescription books and bins with prescription vials.
• Process incoming orders to confirm shipment and invoicing accuracy.
• Affix price stickers to items ordered and place them on stock shelves or in the refrigerator as required.
• Check stock to remove outdated items as deemed necessary by the Pharmacist‑In‑Charge.
