Position:
IT Server Specialist/Administrator

General Responsibilities

The IT Server Specialist/Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day management and smooth operation of IT infrastructure s includes maintaining and supporting servers, networking equipment, cabling, corporate applications, printers, document scanners, and related technologies essential to plant operations. The role is cross‑functional and regional, extending beyond local site support to implement regional IT initiatives and projects at the local level and provide broader regional support as needed.

Core

Responsibilities
  • Manage/support local and regional servers, multifunction and single‑function printers, special purpose appliances, and various peripheral devices in a Microsoft Active Directory environment.
  • Work with local and regional teams to support the implementation of network initiatives and projects.
  • Collaborate with vendor support to quickly resolve problems.
  • Provide general support within the network and IT infrastructure support process in an Active Directory environment.
  • Assist with backups and backup processes, including restores, disaster recovery testing, and related functions.
  • Support core business applications.
  • Participate in audit tasks and physical inventory duties as required.
  • Support computer room infrastructure (power, backup power, HVAC, humidity control).
  • Support manufacturing plant floor applications for data collection, traceability, and ensure availability for critical events or downtime.
  • Support manufacturing plant floor hardware such as bar code printers, scanners, and mobile computers.
  • Support business communication systems, including phone and video conferencing systems.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to support local and regional initiatives as needed.
  • Assist with network infrastructure support, including access, distribution, LAN, switching, cabling, and associated infrastructure.
  • Support cloud‑related corporate applications.
Position Requirements
  • Minimum five years experience in IT systems administration and support or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Operating Systems (GUI and CLI), including Windows 7, 10, Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022.
  • Advanced knowledge of Active Directory management.
  • Good working knowledge of TCP/IP networking.
  • In‑depth understanding of DNS, DHCP, LDAP.
  • Competent understanding of intra‑network communication within a datacenter environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs on occasion.
  • Ability to inspect equipment in cramped or tight locations.
  • Required to carry a company cell phone and be on call during off‑schedule times.
  • Experience in automotive or manufacturing sectors is an asset.
  • Experience collaborating with remote teams is desired.
Qualifications, Education & Certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college or university degree in IT preferred.
  • Industry‑recognized certifications (A+, Security+, Network+, Microsoft, ITIL, VMware) preferred.

  • Availability for overtime and shifts outside the structured schedule.
  • On‑call coverage during off‑shift hours and weekends.
  • Collaboration with onsite and remote staff for local and regional project goals.
