Maintenance Technician Nights 7pm to 7am
American Plastics, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic-injection molded products for the household & garage storage and commercial cleaning end-markets. We are searching for a Maintenance Technician for our Findlay, OH location. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities- Electrical: troubleshoot and read electrical prints.
- Hydraulics: troubleshoot, debug hydraulic circuits, read machine schematics and repair.
- Pneumatics: troubleshoot, debug pneumatic circuits, read machine schematics and repair.
- Injection‑molding machine general maintenance, troubleshooting, debugging and repair as needed.
- Execute lock out/tag out procedures on all injection and related equipment.
- Initiate and recommend preventive, predictive or continuous improvement ideas to prevent downtime.
- Work with equipment suppliers to determine root cause of equipment failures and implement permanent solutions.
- Maintain plant facility and associated equipment.
- Perform daily checks of all injection molding equipment as outlined on the preventive maintenance schedule.
- Possess a forklift license, man‑lift certificate, and crane operation required (will train to our specifics; not required but a plus).
- Own and maintain the basic set of tools needed to perform the essential duties.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and teamwork to uphold the highest industry standards.
All (4) shifts A, B, C, D are scheduled on a 2/2/3 pattern. This schedule gives you a 3‑day weekend every other week. The pattern consists of four 12‑hour shifts: work two days in a row, two days off, then three days. The result is only 14 working days each month.
Requirements- At least 18 years of age.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Pass a pre‑employment drug screen & authorize background check.
- Must be able to work a 12‑hour shift.
- Prior maintenance technician experience required (injection molding experience a plus).
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Knowledge of basic math skills.
- Demonstrate good judgment and decision‑making ability.
- Possess interpersonal skills and be able to communicate on all levels.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, forklift experience or willingness to learn.
- Basic ability in: welding; brazing; soldering, or silver brazing; refrigeration repair; machine shop training; fabrication in plastic; electronic repair; and/or mechanical engine repair, transmission repair, robotics.
