JOB SUMMARY

Skilled-level Body technician who can perform collision repairs in all areas, in addition to being specialized in certain areas of repair. This position will primarily focus on paint but will also perform other bodywork to repair vehicle damage as needed, within the established guidelines. The Body Shop Technician will communicate with both the parts department and the customer to ensure the job is completed efficiently and accurately.

It is essential to understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including those from the EPA, OSHA, and DOT.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Vocational/technical school preferred.
  • Certification of completion of technical school specializing in the repair/refinish of all series of trucks and trailers preferred.
  • Working knowledge of tools of trade (including welding equipment, paint equipment, shop machines, and power tools) required.
  • Two to five years of automotive paint experience required, specifically using Imron paint.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
