Mortgage Loan Officer

Compensation: $27-$30 per hour + Incentives

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mortgage Loan Officer to guide borrowers through the loan process from initial application to closing. This role requires strong customer service, industry expertise, and a proactive approach to meeting purchase contract deadlines.

• Serve as the primary contact for borrowers, credit unions, and third parties throughout the loan process.
• Capture and process new mortgage applications, providing accurate interest rate quotes.
• Evaluate applications to determine eligibility for available loan programs and request necessary documentation.
• Provide expert guidance to applicants on loan programs, terms, and the mortgage process.
• Prepare and issue initial loan disclosures in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain regular follow-up with pre-qualified borrowers to support their loan process.
• Stay up to date with changes to investor, mortgage insurance, and underwriting guidelines.
• Ensure purchase contract deadlines are met with precision and efficiency.
• Maintain licensure with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and required state licensing.
• Handle adverse action communications professionally and in compliance with regulations.
• Perform additional mortgage-related duties as assigned.

Required:

• 2+ years of mortgage loan origination experience
• Active NMLS licensure and eligibility under the SAFE Act
• Strong ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and drive results
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Experience with FNMA, FHA, FHLB, VA, USDA guidelines
• Knowledge of state and federal mortgage regulations
