The Packaging Designer Iwill be a critical member of the Shorr sales organization and further establish Shorr as a value-added supplier to our customers. In this role, you will conceptualize and create custom corrugated designsas well as support Sales,Design Lead and Design Team by cutting samples, creating CAPEReportsand providing overall Design support.
Responsibilities- Design simple corrugated designs for Sales
- Designs samples using Artios CAD software and creates samples on ourstate-of-the-art Kongsberg design table
- Cuts samples from Design Lead and other Shorr Design centers
- Prepares palletization and other miscellaneous reports utilizing
CAPE software. - Prepares drawings and written instructions to be used for estimating purposes
- Prepares and designs samples of corrugated packaging for customers byestablishingdimension from actual items or other information provided
- Assists customers to develop new and innovative concepts for packaging
- Interact and collaborate with designers in other Shorr locations
- Orders and maintains all design room supplies
- Associates degree related to CAD or mechanical drafting/design or equivalent related experience required.
- Experience using AutoCAD or Artios CAD software required.
- Knowledge of point-of-purchase (POP) and industrial corrugated packaging experience preferred
- Knowledge of ASTM, TAPPI and ISTA standards desired
