Summary of Responsibilities- Responsible for the daily supervision and management of a primary care group of up to 5 children, ranging from 6 weeks to 1 year of age.
- Plans, implements, and supervises the class's daily program according to the philosophy of Leaf Spring School.
- Incorporates principles of age-appropriate growth and development and developmentally appropriate practice in daily lesson plans.
- Must complete the Virginia Preservice Training (10-hr training)
- Must possess a love for children and an ability to relate well with them, their families, and teachers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A positive attitude and work ethic – must be a team player!
- 6+ months of programmatic experience, working in a licensed and/or accredited child care facility required.
- High School Diploma required. Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Child Development, or another child-related field. (assistance available for those who want to further their degree!)
- Does not have scheduling restrictions between the hours of 6:45 am-6:15 pm
We will train you and give you valuable industry experience. Daycare, nanny, summer camp, babysitting, Montessori, and Reggio-Emilio experience welcome!
