Responsibilities
  • As a Gearbox Design Engineer, you will own the design and detailing of gearbox components and complete transmission systems — from initial concept through to racetrack performance.
  • Design and integration of precision gearbox and transmission systems, including metallic and composite components.
  • Influencing and guiding design, feasibility, compliance documentation, and assembly.
  • Close collaboration with cross-functional departments to optimize integration, ensure reliability, and uphold the highest quality standards in design and manufacturing.

What do you need to bring to the team?

Experience in high-performance motor sport or automotive engineering is essential, preferably in Formula 1, WEC, Indy Car or similar categories. You must also have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in the end-to-end design and integration of precision gearbox and transmission systems under high load and temperature environments.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD (preferably Siemens NX or CATIA 3DX or similar), with in-depth knowledge of GD&T and complex tolerance stacks.
  • Sound understanding of structural design, rotating systems, lubrication, and FIA technical regulations.
  • Experience with carbon composite gearbox housings and hybrid system integration is desirable.
