What You Will Do
Flexware is looking for a talented Senior Ignition Developer to join our team. You will have the opportunity to work as a trusted advisor to our clients and will be challenged to come up with innovative and long-lasting MES and SCADA solutions utilizing the Ignition Platform. You will be responsible for building out Ignition as a SCADA solution for the multitude of manufacturing clients that Flexware services.
- Design, develop, and architect SCADA systems which include SCADA and HMI development built around the Ignition platform using SQL, Python, JavaScript, and other languages and technologies.
- Design and develop within multiple technologies, including but not limited to:
- Data historians (OSI PI, Rockwell Factory Talk Historian, etc.)
- Databases (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)
- Custom applications (C#, .NET, etc.)
- Develop and configure interfaces with third-party software tools such as OPC servers, PLC’s, and other industrial devices
- Provide detailed documentation to clients on system design and programming

Flexdogs are a rare breed of engineers. They come from varied backgrounds, but typically have some of the following traits:
- Received a technical bachelor’s degree such as Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a similar technical concentration
- Have 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment working with SCADA or MES applications with at least three years focused on Ignition development
- Experience working with OPC servers and tag data
- Experience developing in higher-level programming languages such as C#/.NET, SQL, Python, JavaScript, or others
- Experience working with SQL or Oracle databases, writing medium to complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers
- Ability to understand PLC logic and programming
