The Elementary Teacher is responsible for delivering a high-quality instructional experience consistent with the curriculum standards of the school district. Essential duties include classroom instruction, conferences with students, parents, and colleagues, and active participation in the department’s curriculum development, activities, and pedagogy.

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university;
  Master’s Degree preferred.
• Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary license
  :
  Elementary (1‑6) or Early Childhood (PreK‑2); SEI Endorsement.
• Knowledge of current education legislation and regulations.
• Ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, and parents and advocate for children to problem‑solve.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and ability to work with all stakeholders.
• Belief in commitment to increasing personal growth, both academic and social‑emotional, to obtain the highest level of achievement for every student.

• Provide learning experiences in the elementary grades guided by the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and district standards.
• Monitor and supervise students through effective classroom management.
• Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement.
• Use innovative instructional strategies and technology to increase student learning and confidence.
• Follow professional practices consistent with district policies in working with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Attend and participate in faculty meetings and other assigned meetings and activities.
• Maintain and improve professional competence through attendance at professional development events and self‑generated activities.
• Plan and assess curriculum and instruction.
• Guide the learning process toward curriculum standards and establish clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
• Differentiate instruction and provide appropriate opportunities using the RTI framework.
• Implement the district’s mission, philosophy of education, and instructional standards.
• Develop a schedule to meet and instruct assigned students in designated locations and times.
• Maintain accurate, complete records as required by district policy.
• Assist administration in implementing policies governing student life and conduct.
• Develop reasonable classroom rules and procedure to maintain order fairly.
• Maintain open communication with students, colleagues, and parents regarding academic and behavioral progress.
• Promote equity and appreciation of diversity, including strategies for students with special needs, 504 plans, and English learners.
• Perform other duties assigned by the principal or assistant principal.
