The Spanish teacher prepares students for collegiate‑level studies in foreign language and overall learning approaches. Responsibilities include developing and executing lesson plans, administering assessments, and providing feedback to students and parents. The teacher balances classroom management and teaching to meet student needs while fostering an inclusive culture.

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:

• Create engaging lesson plans, lessons, and presentations to pique student interest and involvement in learning.
• Practice SEL techniques in the classroom to foster student growth and connection.
• Administer and provide constructive feedback on student work in a timely manner.
• Evaluate students' skills and knowledge, and grade their work.
• Manage the classroom to ensure a supportive learning environment; enforce rules, and supervise students' behavior.
• Help students who are struggling, and prepare them for life after graduation.
• Meet with parents and guardians to discuss students' progress, and encourage parent and community involvement.
• Work with other teachers and staff to develop programs and initiatives, and collaborate with guidance counselors.
• Participate in faculty meetings and professional development activities.
• Work with Department Head to craft curriculum and extra‑curricular opportunities for students.
• Foster and maintain a healthy, disciplined classroom setting.
• Contribute positively to the inclusive and collaborative culture of St. Bernard’s High School.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and community activities.
• Add attend fall and spring Open House events.
• Work closely with the Director of External Relations and Media Specialist to promote their innovative lessons on STB social media and website channels.
• All other duties as assigned.
