Job DescriptionPeer Career Assistants (PCAs) are student support staff who contribute to the mission of the Fitchburg State University Career Services and Advising Center. Peer Career Assistants are trained to provide additional support to assist Fitchburg State students with:
- Resume and cover letter editing and development
- Online resources including Handshake, SSC/Navigate, College Scheduler and other CSA Center resources
- Job and internship searching
Additionally, PCAs support the CSA Center staff with projects, events and workshops such as staffing the career fairs, leading workshops, and promoting events. PCA's will be expected to participate in marketing for the CSA such as creating Instagram posts and reels.
Being a PCA allows you to support other students while building professional skills and experience.
PCAs will- Develop interpersonal and presentation skills
- Develop networking skills through connections with employers and career center staff
- Must be a current Fitchburg State undergraduate student
- Must be Work Study eligible
- Self-motivated and able to work both as a team and independently
- Organized and able to multitask a variety of projects
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Interpersonal skills- the ability to speak and work effectively with peers, staff and faculty
- Detail-oriented and creative
- Responsible and professional when working with sensitive and confidential information
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
- Familiarity with Google Drive, Docs and Calendar
- Familiarity with social media
This is a part-time, non-benefited, student only position. Schedule varies between 15-20 hrs per week with an hourly rate of $15.00. Anticipated start date January 6, 2026.
