The Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems business is a trusted provider of innovative naval gas and hybrid power systems, control technology, and support solutions for the U.S. Navy and navies around the world.

Involved with the design, fabrication, and modification of mechanical and/or electro-mechanical components, sub-systems, and systems. Responsibilities may include Mechanical Analysis, Aerodynamics/Fluids, Thermal, Fluid Systems, Mechanical Packaging, or others. Evaluate and recommend design approaches to meet production requirements for new or improved products or services. Investigate solutions to product or process problems.

• Support and participate in technical activities
• Design, develop, analyze, document, and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems
• Use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software as required
• Work independently under supervision
• Provide regular progress and status reports
• Complete assigned tasks on time and meet technical requirements
• Review customer specifications and develop designs to support them, considering cost as a key variable
• Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services
• Support design-to-cost and design-for-manufacture requirements
• Develop prototypes to mitigate key development risks
• Communicate clearly with team members and customers
• Assist in preparing less complex proposals
• Support and promote the organization's mission, values, and culture
• Attend relevant engineering, customer, or business meetings

• Basic technical expertise and application domain knowledge
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field
