Job Summary

The Training Coordinator will have overall responsibility to design, plan, and implement training programs, procedures, standards, lean implementation and training tools under the direction of the Manager. The training coordinator will be a core member of the leadership team and will support facets of operations and production.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Creates a training program for different roles and functions in conjunction with leadership team.
  • Will develop an overall plant training system and implement training programs that directly impact measures like productivity, quality, efficiency, retention, lean principles, and environmental impacts.
  • Ensures that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective.
  • Maintains knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization and/or industry.
  • Identifies problems and opportunities such as operational changes or industry developments that training could improve.
  • Conducts or facilitates required and recommended training sessions.
  • Collaborates with vendors and third-party training providers to arrange employee registration and participation in outside training programs.
  • Ensures that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to the approved training budget.
  • Maintains a site-wide skills matrix and keeps it updated, through preparation and administration of assessments and qualifications.
  • Onboards hourly employees to optimize integration into the plant.
  • Will present information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures.
  • Development of a Cross-Training Plan to address bottlenecks, resourcing, and optimizing overall staffing levels.
  • Defines and establishes a Train the Trainer program for the facility.
  • Establishes and maintains a training playbook.
  • Prepares and implements the training budget.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Have the capability and desire to develop as a CI specialist.
  • Have the capability to understand and execute lean principles.
  • Facilitate training in a classroom setting.
Education and Experience
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3 to 5 years in training or development
Preferred Skills/Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong graphic design ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.
  • Proficient with tools used for creating One Point Lessons (OPL), Training SOPs, videos, etc.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
  • Flexibility required to accommodate interactions with manufacturing on all shifts
