Operates ultrasound equipment, develops films, applies principles of radiation safety for patients, the general public, and self. Evaluates ultrasound results for technical quality. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures. Recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures. Aids in the orientation and education of radiology department and hospital staff. Participates in performance improvement activities to ensure the highest standards of care.

• Education: Graduate of an accredited ultrasound technology program.
• License: Registry eligible.
• Experience: Clinical training in ultrasound technology.
• Skills: Ability to work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions. Ability to move, sit, stand, walk, and bend intermittently throughout the workday. Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
• Sensory: Must possess sight and hearing or use prosthetics that enable these senses to function adequately.
• Equipment: Use of mechanical and technical equipment required for responsibilities.
• Additional: External and internal applicants who become disabled must be able to perform essential job functions either unaided or with reasonable accommodations on a case-by-case basis.
