Upperline Health is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and motivated Medical Assistant to support our physicians in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care within the clinic setting. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys helping others, and is eager to grow within a stable and expanding healthcare organization.
The Medical Assistant will primarily work in our [location] clinic and will support physicians through a mix of clinical and administrative responsibilities. Podiatry or orthopedic experience and X-ray experience are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for appointments and ensure comfort in exam rooms
- Complete patient intake including medical, social, and surgical histories
- Obtain vital signs and document accurately in athenahealth EMR
- Assist physicians during exams and procedures, including taking X-rays
- Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam and X-ray rooms
- Sterilize equipment according to clinical standards
- Conduct health assessments with Upperline Plus patients
- Perform telephonic outreach to coordinate preventive care
- Support care coordination activities such as scheduling and referrals
- Travel to nearby clinics as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
- Podiatry or orthopedic clinic experience preferred
- X-ray experience a plus
- Care coordination or care management experience preferred
- Experience working with geriatric patients is ideal
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with EMR systems; athenahealth preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service mindset
- Reliable transportation required
