Base pay range$75.00/hr - $77.00/hr
ScheduleMonday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm, no weekends. Typically, will work 40 hours per week. If work is completed for the day, the temp will be sent home. No Overtime Work.
Position SummaryThis role involves evaluating and treating residents/patients with temporary or long-term speech, hearing, swallowing, and cognitive disabilities in compliance with state and federal guidelines. Responsibilities include assessing speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, and fluency, and developing treatment plans based on a physician’s directives.
Essential Functions- Screens and evaluates patients/residents and develops appropriate care plans.
- Provides direct patient/resident treatment under a physician's direction based on established plans of care.
- Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency for individuals with communication and/or swallowing or cognitive problems.
- Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
- Instructs residents/patients, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills.
- Completes required forms and clinical records in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
- Documents in patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
- Devises special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.
- Provides comprehensive and compassionate therapy services in a sub-acute/skilled nursing facility setting.
- Works collaboratively with other rehab therapists and nursing staff in a supportive team-working environment.
- Maintains resident/patient privacy pursuant to HIPAA.
- Ensures punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts.
- Develops treatment plans, including short and long-term goals and methods to achieve identified goals.
- Communicates the resident’s/patient’s speech therapy program to the family and/or client.
- Keeps written documentation including evaluations, daily notes, and weekly summaries.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Current knowledge of effective speech therapy techniques.
- Familiarity with clinical needs of the geriatric population.
- Strong clinical capabilities.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
- Active license in Speech Language Pathology in the State of Arizona.
