PREOP/PACU REGISTERED NURSE – Flagstaff Bone & Joint Surgical Center
As a critical member of our surgical team, you will provide exceptional patient care throughout the pre‑operative and post‑anesthesia care unit (PACU). Your expertise will ensure the highest safety standards, promote patient comfort, and support efficient discharge planning.
ResponsibilitiesThe Pre Op/PACU Registered Nurse delivers continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, continuously evaluating patient conditions.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation and sterile techniques as needed.
- Providing comprehensive care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation—including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
- Planning for appropriate patient discharge in collaboration with the family.
- Ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times.
- Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
- Active RN license in the state.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS as required by the center.
- Preferred: 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care.
- Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Capacity to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient and unit needs.
